He details the insurance industry's dramatic shift, now retreating from high-risk regions like Florida and California due to unmanageable fire and flood risks. This signals a broader business awakening to the urgent need for rapid climate action as long-term consequences become immediate.

During Climate Week in New York City, WECAN held a virtual public event on September 26, 2024, titled “Transforming Global Economies: From Extraction to Regeneration in a Just Transition.”

Syukuro Manabe delivered his Nobel Prize lecture, "Physical modelling of Earth’s climate," on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Professor Thors Hans Hansson introduced him.
Manabe shared the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics with Klaus Hasselmann. Their work was recognized for "physical modelling of Earth's climate, quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming."
The prize, awarded for "groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of complex systems," also saw Giorgio Parisi receive the other half for his discoveries on disorder and fluctuations in physical systems.
Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) is a climate change organization. Interim Executive Director Ricky Bradley has outlined CCL’s new strategic approach, designed to drive advocacy efforts. This strategy aims to create conditions necessary for lawmakers of both parties to support effective climate legislation.
