Regional climate information: Central America, Caribbean and South America

This event highlights key messages from the IPCC's 6th Assessment Report on the Physical Science Basis of climate change, with a particular focus on Central and South America. IPCC authors will present observed and projected regional climate changes for Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, followed by an Interactive Atlas demonstration.

Invited speakers will then discuss integrating climate components into environmental, economic, and social public policies to disseminate current information on climate change impacts.

Climate change information for the impact and risk assessment in the European region

This event will present the latest regional climate information for Europe, based on the IPCC WGI AR6 report. It will introduce the Climatic Impact-Drivers (CIDs) framework, crucial for impact and risk assessment.

The session will highlight future projections, past trends, and attribution of key CIDs across four European AR6 regions. Examples of CID projections at 1.5°C, 2°C, and 4°C global warming levels will be illustrated using the Interactive Atlas facility.

Following a plenary discussion, participants can join Q&A sessions in breakout rooms, where specific topics will be discussed in various languages.

Regional climate information: Africa

This event highlights key messages from the IPCC's 6th Assessment Report on Climate Change: Physical Science Basis, with a specific focus on Africa.

IPCC authors will present observed and projected climate change signals across the African continent, including specific insights for the nine IPCC African regions and the West African Monsoon. The event will feature a Q&A breakout session for regional discussions and a demonstration of the interactive Atlas.

AR6 WGI video

This video presents the Physical Science Basis, a key component of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.

It specifically covers the Working Group I contribution to the 2022 findings on climate change.

Climate Change Communication and the IPCC

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the authoritative source on climate change, responsible for effectively communicating vital information. Nearing the end of its Sixth Assessment Cycle, it's an important moment to reflect on past communication successes, challenges, and lessons learned for future reports.

International media and science communities are invited to mark the launch of a new Topical Collection (TC) in the journal *Climatic Change*. This TC focuses on Climate Change Communication and the IPCC, showcasing expert research and policy insights relevant to the IPCC's work.

A diverse panel of authors will present key findings from three TC papers on public understanding, engaging young people, and democratizing knowledge. IPCC Vice Chair Thelma Krug will offer critical reflections, followed by a Q&A session and a 'pitch contest' to conclude the event.
